"她" is instinctively doing the commonsense correct thing (which has been in practised since ancient time) -- Kangaroo care.
Generally speaking, Singapore/Asia is about 10 to 20+ years less enlightened than western countries in most thinggs - meaning, while the latter has already abandoned fast food, fried chicken and nonsense way of taking cares of babies etc, asians are at the peak of enjoying MacDonalds, KFC, the 1950s ways of how western medicine take care of babies, and basically swallowing without questions all the nonsense western things that westerners have already abandoned！
3rd world country is even worse - they are only starting to mimic the west! So for eg, 3rd world countries are only starting to follow the "modern" western medical msg: "baby milk powder is as good as breast milk", whereas western countries has reversed their position and revert back to "breast milk is best".
Same for care of preemies lor. 3rd world countries now practising "modern" western neonatal ICU practices where babies are isolated from mothers. But alas, western countries has reversed their position back to "mother's tender loving touch is the best".
If the 3rd world country did not practise "modern" western medicine, I can gaurantee you, their original ancient traditional method has always been: mothers should touch their newborn no matter how prematurely born they are.

西方国家渐渐明白自己的“摩登”生活方式有多糟糕，开始去尼布尔西藏，学打坐，学降压，可是呀，那些落后国家，却拼命放弃自己的“落后”生活方式，追求西方生活方式。呵呵，他们迟早会后悔。。

对于这些，每个国家都在自己摸索的阶段。
我不认为，任何人有资格取笑任何人。
重要的是，大家都在不断学习，尝试让医学提高大家的生活水准。
